Why Menopause?
This year, The Policy Project is focusing on an issue that nearly every woman will experience at some point in her life: menopause.
But even though women are the ones experiencing menopause, it doesn't just affect women. It affects our relationships, families, workplaces, and communities. It's definitely NOT a niche issue, even though it's often treated like one.
59% of women surveyed didn't know what perimenopause was until they began experiencing symptoms, and nearly 7 in 10 women seeking menopause care reported inadequate care.
We're working to change that.
The Policy Project is leading an effort to modernize menopause care in Utah by helping women recognize symptoms earlier, improving medical provider training, investing in Utah-specific research, and making trusted resources easier to access.
Come for the mahjong. Stay for the cause.
