Volunteer Commitment & Expectations
At The Policy Project, every volunteer position is grounded in a clear and mutual understanding of responsibilities. Each volunteer role includes a defined role description outlining key expectations, the approximate weekly or monthly time commitment, and the term length commitment.
Volunteers are expected to:
Understand and honor the responsibilities of their specific role
Commit to the agreed-upon number of hours and term of service
Communicate proactively with their staff supervisor if their availability or ability to fulfill their role changes
Our ability to fulfill our mission depends on the reliability and engagement of our volunteers. By upholding role commitments, volunteers contribute meaningfully to our work and help us build a strong, effective, and respectful volunteer culture.
