As a volunteer with The Policy Project, you may have access to sensitive, proprietary, or confidential information. By agreeing to volunteer with The Policy Project, you also agree to uphold the confidentiality and integrity of this information, both during and after your volunteer service.
Confidential Information
Confidential information includes, but is not limited to:
Internal data, reports, research, materials, forms, procedures, policies, and organizational strategies
Information related to staff, donors, partners, clients, or stakeholders
Contact lists, communications (including emails, Slack messages, texts, or verbal conversations), and internal discussions
Any information related to past, present, or future policy initiatives or organizational activities
Any content, ideas, documents, or materials marked or understood to be confidential
This applies regardless of the format in which the information is stored or shared (e.g., paper, digital, verbal, electronic communications, shared drives, cloud storage, etc.).
Obligations of Confidentiality
As a volunteer, you agree to:
Keep all confidential information strictly private and not disclose it to any third party without prior written consent from The Policy Project
Refrain from copying, sharing, or reproducing confidential materials outside the scope of your volunteer responsibilities
Use any confidential information only as necessary to perform your assigned volunteer duties
Immediately notify The Policy Project of any unauthorized disclosure or breach of confidentiality, whether intentional or accidental
Duration and Enforcement
Your duty to maintain confidentiality extends beyond the duration of your volunteer term and continues indefinitely. Any violation of this policy may result in the immediate termination of your volunteer role and could subject you to legal consequences, including potential prosecution or liability for damages under applicable laws.
