The Policy Project is a proudly nonpartisan organization—our motto is always policy over politics. We believe that meaningful change happens when people across the political spectrum come together to find common ground and advocate for smart policy solutions. That’s why maintaining political neutrality is core to our mission and the effectiveness of the organization.
We welcome volunteers from all political backgrounds and know many of you are civically engaged—that’s one of the reasons we love having you involved! However, when you’re representing The Policy Project in any way (such as at an event, in conversations with stakeholders, or on social media related to TPP activities), we require that you avoid partisan political language or activity. This helps protect our nonprofit status and ensures that our message stays inclusive and focused on policy, not politics.
Outside of your volunteer work with us, you’re free to participate in political activities in your personal capacity. Just be sure to never use your affiliation with The Policy Project in any way that could be interpreted as an endorsement by the organization (i.e. do not include The Policy Project in your introductory bio in a presentation at a partisan event, etc.)
If you’re ever unsure whether something crosses the line, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help you navigate the balance.
